In our workshop in Ome, Italy, we keep taking orders from private customers, architects and interior designers. This has been an obvious choice, consistent with the history of our creative and unique furniture items, labeled as Clab4design.
Woodwork is our main source of inspiration. The act of making is what makes creative thought clear, open and light. As George Nakashima said, "... ours is a search of pure truth in the most realistic of ways: the Making of Things”.
Care is also important. Doing custom work, we always try to interpret both our customers’ actual, practical needs, and their personal demands, such as those related to aesthetic taste, sensitivity, budget, etc.
The search for empathy is essential for the success of custom furniture that will be "worn" by a particular house, or living environment. A good piece of furniture can only be created through a successful collaboration between customer and woodworker.
“Sensitive to wood”’s workshop is equipped with modern, but not too sophisticated tools, allowing an easy transition from a product to another. Since 2002, the year when the company was founded, we have worked on several custom pieces of furniture, using all our flexibility.
We have decided to maintain the brand name “Sensitive to wood” for the production of custom furniture, keeping it separate from Clab4design.
